I was terminated from my job also (FMLA) I had a series of 3 epidurals while still working for the company, before I had my first surgery. I had undergone my first back surgery in March of 09 for a microdiscectomy in L4 and L5. I had been diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease, Stenosis and Radiculopathy. I had a second surgery in June of the same year (which was only a little over a month from the first surgery) My Employer terminated me 7 days AFTER my second surgery.. I couldn't believe that they could do that due to the fact that I'd just had a second surgery and was STILL UNDER DOCTOR'S CARE. It's been just over a year and I haven't been able to work since all this. The pain is excruciating, I can't sleep, and the pains down my legs and the burning in my back is just too much to handle at times... Depression has set in for a while now. I have 3 young children and I am 33 but feel 80 most of the time. I WANT MY OLD LIFE BACK!! I want to be pain free and not have to take any medications. I live in Alabama, and according to our laws, we can be terminated for just about anything....for no reason.. If our employer doesn't like what we are wearing on a certain day or if we like Mexican food and he doesn't.. Not Fair in my opinion but it happened to me because I had back surgery.

Hay Jeff, I have been reading you'lls stories and no doctor has convinced me yet that the surgery will help, sounds to me like you'll just paying something thats not working anyway. Sorry to be so gloomy about this but the idea of someone cutting into my back is crazy, I feel like if was a cure for anything what money would the doctors make. Sorry I'd just assume deal with a little pain than all those issues and pain after.

About 2 years ago I fell straight on my back and some how, strain my muscles in the lower part of my back. ever since then I've had harsh sharp burning pain in my back almost like I'm straining it all over again. The pain gets s bad once I sit down its screaming pain to get up, but everyday I continue pray that isn't as bad the next time, because can't have surgery its not an option I care to indore.

You better go see a nuerosurgen, I had the same problems you describe and had surgery. Before surgery though, the left foot turned into a drop foot which you cannot raise up by yourself. You have severely pinched nerves it sound like and the faster you get help the better.

I had tingling in both feet and legs, due to the pinching of the nerves, before I could have surgery, I got a drop foot on the left foot, Cant raise it up, evev after the major surgery and fusion. The surgery was 2-8-2010 and i have to wear a special brace and shoe on the left foot. The back appears better but the feet and legs are shot, can barely get around.

i feel for you i am 50 yr old have had 4 back surgeries last march 09 axia-lif which didnt work left me worse off than before and i have bone spurs in cervical area c6-c7disk problem.I am very confused also on what to do therapy does not help and had considered the laser spine centers but you have to travel to florida or ohio which they dont take insurance it is out off network and very expensive and still no guarantee this will work either.
