40 years old. when I was a child all these spinal conditions were never heard of. I have been dealing with the pain of Spinal Stenosis for about 8 years. It has destroyed me Mentally, I was a hard worker, a Logger, Graduated from US army Mechanics School and a Transmission Mechanic. Ive always tried to be on top of the moment, but honestly Spinal Stenosis hit me like a thief in the night. what I been dealing with now is my organs trying to shut down. The medicines helped for awhile, but after looking back on it all. I feel like I sped up the condition trying to be normal on the medicines. I hope you all listen when I say this, I feel like the medicines may have took as much toll on my body. I never even heard anyone else talking about having this much pain. Im trying to hold on until the Lord takes us home. Ive been told all my life when you think you got it bad that you can look around and see that you dont. I tell you, a person endures damage just having to admit the weakness of it all with no answers to the questions. If I was in control I would take everyones pain away.

Hello to everyone. I was reading all the stuff everyone posted. But here is my problem. I'm 26 years old. I was diagnosed with Lyme's disease in July of this year. Went through treatments for that. And when all of my symptoms didn't disappear they sent to a neurologist. I had weakness below both needs. They could not figure out what was wrong with me. They sent me to 2 different Infectious Disease Doctors. They told my lyme's disease was treated and that there was nothing they could do for me. Well my dr. got MRI authorized and it came back that my lower back has at least 2 slipped discs and 2 herniated discs along with spinal stenosis. have to go to neurosurgeon on the 9th to find out what they are going to do. I have numbness and tingling in both legs along with lower back pain. I have read alot on the spinal stenosis but it has to due older adults. I just would like some answers if anyone has any good sites to check out.

Dear Barry,

Sorry to hear about your archanoditis, which is scarring of nerves around the dura and spinal cord. If you can check out the website www.adhesions.org on this condition.

Deb, I wish you well with your operation, i know you will be fine. You are young enough to go threw the after surgery problems. So hang in there, bless you. By the way i have decided not to have surgery, just not sure with it. Arch.

Hi Archie,
I'm facing the same surgery you are and I have stenosis.I'm having a Fusion on S-1 up to L 3-4.And 2 laminectomy on L3-4 and L4-5. I was in a car accident on Dec 26,2008.Having a fusion will strength your back. I'm going to have my surgery, I'm 47.The dr basically has to re build my back after this accident.Yes, I would have the surgery, you back will be stronger. The only down fall is dealing with the pain and going through the healing process. I haope you have a Great Dr. I live in Fitchburg,Mass. Let me know how it goes,Take care, deb
