Phyllis, I read yours and others posts and felt compelled to write you. my heart goes out to you because I know it is so hard dealing with life and pain without any support.

I want to tell you, if you want love and support you can turn to the Lord, I do not know anything about you, and if you already are a believer than wonderful. In case your not, I want to encourage you to give God a chance, He will see you thru all your troubles. We have something in common, I to have fibromyalgia, plus severe osteoarthrtis in my hips. I'm 54, and what I have learned from hard knocks in this life is people will let us down, even the most sensitive nicest ones in the world because no one is perfect. But God who sent His son to die for us will never let us down. All you gotta do is believe, and read the bible so you can get to know Him, and start praying to Him as if He is your best friend, He wants to be. I wish you the very best, and hope to hear back from you.
From someone who cares, Debbie

I have a herniated disc that the doctor said did not require surgery. However, the pain has intensified over the past 6 years and I am in pain daily, especially if I experience even a tiny bit of stress or move to bend, etc. I have wondered whether Neurontin would help...I hate taking any drugs whatsoever but tylenol, etc are no longer effective and I have pain at night now laying on my sides.

Suffering from D.D.D. for several yrs. Have done phys thrpy, epidurals, and chiropractor. With the disc problems I'd never had sciatic pain until the past 2 months. Even w/ spinal manipulation it is not getting any better and seems to radiate around the hip area down the thigh then intensifies in and around the knee. Is this normal? Everything I've read indicates straight down as far as the foot, but I've not seen anything about radiating around the knee.

I'm a middle aged massage therapist who was virtually incapacitated due to sciatic nerve pain. Giving massages was very difficult because my right hip and leg were hurting so much. Stretching gave partial, temporary relief. Yesterday I tried accupuncture, never believing it would actually work. Last night I was pain free for the first time in 2 months. When walking, there is slight soreness, but even then, the pain is about 80% less. The accupuncturist suggested 4 treatments, and I am following through on them. I'm truly amazed. And the needles didn't hurt at all.

Carol,
I was searching the netbecause I am experiencing sciatic nerve pain. This is my first episode and it has been pretty bad. However I wanted to offer this to you, please don't let the pain and discomfort consume you. Consider yourself in a battle and know that you are the winner. Call on god to help you and ask for prayer from all you know. I was having a lot of negative thinking around the severe pain but I kept praying and researching. I am currently doing physical therapy which is difficult but provides some relief.. None of the four prescriptions I
have gotten have helped. Please know that you can get some relief, don't give up and ask God to heal and guide you. He will! Keeping you in prayer! Minister Brenda Brown

In 1989 I injured my back and had to have low back surgery.I went through 4 surgerys and still was not able to function. Had low back pain from day one. In 1993 I had another surgery for a 4 level fussion which was successful as far as the back not having movement. I was put on VICODIN for pain which worked fine. As time went by my insurance company would only cover the genaric witch is Hydrocodin. It did nothing for pain relief so I ask the Pharmacist why the gineric was not working. I was informed that Hydrocodin does not have the 5000 mg. of Tylenol and different inert ingredients. I can take 4 Hydrocodin with no help to pain relief, where 1 Vicodin gete rid of most of the pain. I have been on Vicodin for oooover 20 years. Hope this helps in your case.

As far chiropractic care, just having an xray and someone crack your back makes do difference on your discs, because your discs arent made of bone... Ct scans and MRI's are required for real help. Western medicine is a safer bet than chiropractic care by itself.
